Most people have important data on their phones they don't want to lose. If anything happens to your phone and your data isn't backed up, don't fret. All hope is not lost! Always make sure to back up your data, but just in case you didn't, we have another solution that may help you get access to those pictures and important data back.
Touchscreen doesn't work but the screen is still visible
Did you drop your phone and accidentally smash the screen? Even if you can no longer use the touchscreen, you can still access data, such as pictures or messages, using a USB mouse.
Some phones may have included an OTG USB Connector that can be used to connect a mouse, but you can also use a DeX station, or similar docking adapters.
Connect the adapter to your phone, and then connect the mouse's USB to the adapter. You can also connect a keyboard the same way, so you are able to easily enter your PIN or Password, but the on-screen keyboard will be available with a mouse.
Now that you're connected, you can click your way through backing up your data with Smart Switchor other methods.
Note: To get back to the Home screen, use the right click on your mouse.
Once you've backed up your data, please visit a Samsung walk-in service center, or you can schedule a repair service online.
Nothing is visible on the screen
Note:If your screen isn't broken, you may be able to get it working again by following our troubleshooting guide.
If your phone's screen is damaged and you can no longer see anything on it, you can back it up by connecting it to your TV or monitor. If your phone has a micro USB-C port, you'll need a USB-C to HDMI adapter.Or, if your phone has a micro USB-B port, you'll need aUSB-B to HDMI adapter. You will also need an HDMI cable.
With some devices, you can also use a device like a DeX station, or multi-port adapter to connect a mouse and keyboard in addition to HDMI. Handy if the screen also won't respond to touches.
Connect the adapter to your phone, and then connect the HDMI cable to the adapter. Next, connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the TV or monitor's HDMI port. Power on your TV or monitor, and then select the input that your phone is connected to. Once connected, you'll see your phone's screen on the large display. From here, you can mimic movements on your phone to back up your data with SmartSwitch,or other methods.
Note: Not all Samsung phones support HDMI display output.
Once you've backed up your data, please visit a Samsung walk-in service center, or you can schedule a repair service online.

Insights, advice, suggestions, feedback and comments from experts
As an expert and enthusiast, I have access to a wide range of information and can provide insights on various topics. While I have personal experiences or emotions like a human, I can still provide accurate and reliable information based on the data I have been trained on.
Regarding the concepts mentioned in this article, let's break them down and discuss each one:
Backing up data on a phone:
Backing up data on a phone is an essential practice to prevent data loss in case of accidents, damage, or device malfunction. By creating a backup, you can ensure that your important files, such as pictures, messages, contacts, and other data, are safely stored and can be restored to a new device if needed.
Accessing data when the touchscreen doesn't work but the screen is still visible:
If your phone's touchscreen is unresponsive but the screen is still visible, you can still access your data using a USB mouse. Some phones may have an OTG (On-The-Go) USB Connector that allows you to connect a mouse directly. Alternatively, you can use a DeX station or similar docking adapters to connect a mouse to your phone. By connecting the mouse to your phone via the adapter, you can navigate through the interface and back up your data using tools like Smart Switch or other methods. It's also possible to connect a keyboard in the same way to enter your PIN or password easily.
Accessing data when nothing is visible on the screen:
If your phone's screen is completely damaged and you can't see anything on it, you can still back up your data by connecting it to a TV or monitor. Depending on your phone's port type, you'll need a corresponding adapter (USB-C to HDMI adapter for micro USB-C port or USB-B to HDMI adapter for micro USB-B port) and an HDMI cable. Connect the adapter to your phone, then connect the HDMI cable to the adapter and the TV or monitor's HDMI port. Power on the TV or monitor and select the input that your phone is connected to. You should see your phone's screen on the larger display. From there, you can navigate through the interface and back up your data using tools like Smart Switch or other methods.
Contacting Samsung for support or repair:
If you need further assistance or want to schedule a repair service for your Samsung phone, you can contact Samsung through various channels. You can start an online chat with Samsung, call their customer support hotline at 1-800-SAMSUNG, or visit a Samsung walk-in service center. The specific contact details and support hours may vary, so it's best to check Samsung's official website or contact them directly for the most up-to-date information.
Please note that the information provided above is based on general knowledge and may vary depending on the specific model and software version of your Samsung phone. It's always a good idea to consult the official Samsung website or contact their customer support for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your specific device.
I hope this information helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
