ANKER SoundCore Troubleshooting (2024)

Cannot Connect to Speaker

The speaker is out of range, or has faulty Bluetooth.

Device is out of Range

If your device is out of range of your speaker, they will not be able to maintain a Bluetooth connection. Remove any obstacles between the speaker and your device, and move your device as close as you can to your ANKER SoundCore and try to pair again.

Faulty Bluetooth

If the device’s Bluetooth connection chip is broken, it stops the device from pairing at all and prevents any Bluetooth interaction. To avoid using a Bluetooth connection, you can use an auxiliary cord to physically connect the speaker to your device.

If you wish to restore the Bluetooth ability of your speaker, you must desolder the Bluetooth chip and replace it. For help replacing the Bluetooth chip, follow this guide. Beware this is incredibly hard to do.

No Sound Playing

The speaker is out of range, or has a broken speaker/speaker wires.

Not Connected to Speaker

Your Bluetooth device may be out of range for connection. To solve this remove any obstacles between the speaker and your device, move as close as possible, and try to connect.

Broken Speakers

Broken speakers prevent sound from being produced or produce distorted sound. If no other solutions for improving sound have worked, the speakers might be faulty. You can fix this by following this guide.

Poor Sound Quality When Using Bluetooth

The speaker’s volume could be too high, device is out of range, or there is wave interference.

Sound Level is Too High or Too Low

Try to lower the sound level to 85% on the Bluetooth device. High volume levels can cause distortion to sound on speakers. This may also happen if the volume level is too low.

Device is Out of Range

Bluetooth speakers are meant to be close range. If the device is out of range the sound quality will be poor. Move closer to the device to improve sound quality.

Wave Interference

Bluetooth connection uses waves. If there are many Bluetooth devices all being used at once it can cloud the connection between your device and the speaker. To avoid this turn off Bluetooth devices that are not being used and test your sound quality again.

Power Button Doesn’t Work

The speaker’s power button does not function properly.

Press and Hold All Buttons at the Same Time

Try pressing and holding all buttons on the SoundCore simultaneously, for about 30 seconds, then press and hold the power button until it turns on.

Slide Power Button All the Way to the ‘On’ Position, then Lightly Tap it Back.

The power switch can become misaligned, allowing the switch to move past the point of connecting the current to being ‘On’. If your unit will not power up, or does so intermittently, try switching the power from ‘Off’ to ‘On’ past the audible and tactile click / bump resistance, then lightly thumb the switch back (towards the ‘Off’ position) but only until you meet faint resistance. Wait a few moments to see if this powers the unit up.

Problems Switching Between Paired Devices

The speaker has not been paired or unpaired properly.

Not Disconnecting To Last Paired Device

Try turning off Bluetooth on all devices that you do not want to connect then attempt connecting to desired device.

Speaker Not in Pairing Mode

First turn off Bluetooth on the device you want to connect to. Then press the Bluetooth button on the speaker down for 2-3 seconds to enter pairing mode. A flashing blue light indicates the speaker is in pairing mode. Once in pairing mode, try reconnecting to the speaker. A steady blue light indicates your device is paired to the speaker.

Not Charging

The speaker’s charging cables are loose, charging port is broken, or the battery is broken.

Check Charging Cables

Ensure all charging cables work properly. Use the same cable on another device to see if the cable is bad. If the cable charges the other device then the problem is with the speaker’s charging port. If the cable does not charge another device then the cable is broken and another cable should be substituted.

Faulty Charging Port

If the red light on the side of the device is not turning on even when plugged in, then you have a faulty charging port. You can replace this using this guide.

Faulty Battery

If the red light on the side of the device is turning on, but the device has little to no battery life, you have a faulty battery. You can replace this using this guide.

Connected Device Not Able to Control Volume

There is a problem with the current Bluetooth connection.

Restart Device’s Bluetooth

Turn off the connected device’s Bluetooth to disconnect the device from the speaker. Turn on the device to be connected and re-pair the device to the speaker.

Microphone Not Working

The speaker could have a broken microphone or broken microphone wire.

Faulty Microphone

If the microphone does not work even though there is a Bluetooth connection, it means that your microphone or microphone wires are broken. You can replace this using this guide.
